Hubris 03:27
And we all were gonna sell out by the end of the night and at the rate we were going, there was bound to be a fight. And poetic justice won't do any justice. We're all looking for sustenance in this feeble substance. We're not gonna find it in the place we're looking. And we're all too narcissistic to cut each others nooses. And we won't take the blame, but we'll sure give good excuses. It's the goddamn Hubris, the reason we do this. Cut their nooses or cut your losses. Cut their nooses or cut your losses, make a decision we are goddamn exhausted. We're so fucking tired. So cut your losses. It's The Goddamn Hubris. A new complication with every desire, I'd swallow my pride if it's all I've acquired. Nothing to do but to try to be something I can't. I can't explain the price I shall pay to be the one who plays The Game.

The sweet sounds of dirt towns. Like a county fair in a parking lot with your best friends jumping fences, just seeing how long until you got caught. I've been watching you all from a distance, your friends whisper for all to listen. I couldn't hear, but it was plain to see. I'd bet my last few bucks they're talking about me. And you're the summer air. I act like I don't care. I'm always given the same stare. I just gotta get over the bridge now, do you think you'd be able to help? I never thought I'd see myself in the big city. A picture so perfect I can feel it in me. Us walking downtown, so thrift-store pretty. Choking down all this Philly air, but I'd give you my last few bucks just to take me there. You said you're the summer air. I act like I don't care. I'm always given the same stare. Shout it out now, you're going away, but I'm the one who couldn't stay. We were born in dirt, so we will die in dirt. I sold all my stuff. I saved some money up, so I could move with you to the place where you grew up. I'll shake your father's hand. I might lose all my friends and Hell will be learning that nothing was meant to be in the end. I just gotta get over the bridge now. Can anyone help me?
